Hanging Flower Baskets: Just in time for Mother’s Day. We have both 10″ pots (sell for $14) and 12″ pots (sell for $18). These are locally grown by Greenside Flower Farm. We have a nice selection and they are just beautiful.
Greenhouse Produce: Everyone is asking for our greenhouse tomatoes. They are getting closer, but are very slow in ripening. We found three today that are just starting to turn red. So it is probably going to be another 10 days to 2 weeks. We also picked our first greenhouse cucumber today for the season! Knowing how much I love cucumbers, my father gave it to me for Mother’s Day!!
Asparagus: We had a good week for asparagus with the many beautiful days. It is $1.50 per pound and we hope to have it several more weeks. If you want a large quantity (30 pounds) or more, please call ahead and reserve it. 269-244-5690.
Rhubarb: $1.50 per pound
Brown, Fresh Eggs: Those of you who have been to the market lately have noticed a small crew of Amish who have been making repairs to our roof and barn. Each day they have also been bringing fresh eggs to sell. The eggs are so good and have become so popular already, that I have asked them to supply us for the whole summer. They are $1.75/dozen.
Thanks to those of you who have been out in the past several weeks for stepping over our new roof pieces, wood piles, and other construction “mess” as we make some repairs and updates to the market and old barn. They promise that the work should be complete this coming week.
