Apples: Given what a light crop of apples we had this year, we have very few apples left which is unusual for us at this time of year. You may still try to pick apples if you want, but we only have “end of harvest gleaning” left for $6.00 a bushel. There are very, very few left; a few here and and there on some of the trees.
Picked apples: We have the following varieties for sale on the market:
- Fuji: $18 a bushel, $9.50 a half bushel, $6.00 peck
- Red Delicious: $14.00, $7.50 a half bushel, $4.00 peck
All of our apples have been picked for the year, so you may want to call ahead to make sure we have what you are looking for.
As of right now, we still have some Concord grapes to pick. We would encourage you to call first to make sure there is still picking.
Pumpkins, Gourds and Fall Ornamentals: We have a nice selection of pumpkins available, ranging from $5.00 for the largest pumpkin , with smaller pumpkins available for $4, $3, and $1. We also have some “fun” gourds (3 for $1), mums ($3.00 each) and Indian corn for fall decorating. We great birdhouse gourds and even snake gourds.
First Frost is expected soon: So, we hurried out this morning and picked as many tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and cabbage as there was. This may be one of the last weekends and coming weeks for you to get these!
Cider: Just pressed, it is $5.00 a gallon, also available in half gallons and quarts.
Squash: We have lots of squash including acorn, butternut, buttercup and sweet dumpling available to choose from at only 40 cents per pound.
Bosc Pears: These are $18.00 a bushel, or you can buy a small basket of them to eat. This is a winter pear, firm and sweet, great to eat or make into desserts.
Length of our fall season: Due to the light apple crop, we will probably close earlier than normal this year. We are going to try to stay open through October 17th, but it will depend on how many apples we have to sell. We will give you an update when we know more.
