We are closing the field on Wednesday, June 6th for ripening. We hope to reopen on Thursday 6/7/2012 and Saturday 6/9/2012. As we have mentioned in previous updates, this is going to be a very short strawberry season due to the frost and unusual weather. When we opened today in a section where the berries had not been picked for four days, we just felt the picking was not what our customers would want or expect. The berries are getting smaller and the picking is not as full. So……we will monitor the field closely and try to open for a few more days yet this season when we feel there can be adequate picking. Always call first to find out what the picking conditions are and if we are open for U-Pick. We will try to have picked berries on the market for $3.00 a quart for about one more week. 269-244-5690.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause some of you who had planned to come out during one of the days we will now be closing. Thanks for your understanding and support.
Beth and everyone at Corey Lake Orchards
